Obot Akara Reaffirms Support for Udom, PDP
***as Ufot Ebong Empowers constituents
The people of Obot Akara local government area yesterday reaffirmed their total support for the second term aspiration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
They maintained that with what Governor Udom Emmanuel has done for them in the last four years especially political inclusion, they’ll reciporcate the gesture by voting massively and defending their votes to ensure his victory on March, 2nd.
Speaking at the empowerment program organised by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong to people of the area, Obong P W. Umoh thanked the people who came out in their numbers to make their position known to preachers of Warsaw yesterday at Government Primary School, Nton Uno in Ikot Abia Clan
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of Obot Akara, Mr. Uyo Micheal said the people were thankful to the governor for giving them a sense of belonging especially appointing their son, Elder Ufot Ebong as SSA on Technical Matters and Due Process whom they described as a square peg in a square hole.
“We have benefited from Udom’s administration more than others. Appointing our son in the person of Elder Ufot Ebong who has been doing us good is something we can’t just take for granted. Recently, our son was given ticket to replace Godswill. Elder Ebong, please help us tell Governor Emmanuel that on the 16th February, and March 2nd, we shall all pay him back with the totality of our votes.”
On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong flanked by his Wife, Deac. (Mrs.) Janet Ebong insisted that the victory of PDP in the area is a done deal. He maintained that Obot Akara Local Government has never had it this good. He commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for his administration restructuring and superlative sense of leadership which has changed the narrative of Obot Akara Local Government where the people of Obot Akara were relegated to the background especially in the last administration.
The Governor’s Aide urged the people to remain resolute with the Party, saying, “Don’t go to where you won’t be recognised. We are voting for PDP, we’re for Atiku Abubakar, Governor Udom Emmanuel our son, Ukarapa, Nsikak Ekong and Idongesit Ntekpere.”
At the event, 2000 wrappers, eleven sewing machines, hundreds of AKEES Plastics, 100,000 Naira each Scholarship Grants to 10 Obot Akara students, support of skills acquisition training to 41 indigenous youths of the area and other cash gifts, were dolled out as empowerment items to the people by Elder Ufot Ebong.
The event was attended by Political Stalwarts, Party faithful, Elders, Women groups and Youths from Ikot Abia Clan, Obot Akara LGA.
