…Urges delegates not to change the winning team!

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has been commended for changing governance narrative in the state. Mr Unyime Idem, the leading aspirant for the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency Seat disclosed this while playing host to statutory delegates from his Federal Constituency. He described the state number One Citizen as an unassuming and world class technocrat whose pedigree and financial expertise has been brought to bear in governing the state and in managing the scarce resources for the good of all.

“Let me state here that God has blessed Akwa Ibom State with an unassuming and knowledgeable leader who has changed the governance narrative of our state. He has enthroned transparency, honesty and accountability in government affairs. He has put in place a reward system where hard work and merit has replaced mediocrity, tribalism and man know man syndrome. We now have in place a governance system where people are judged by capacity, contributions and content of their character and not where they come from. He has also ensured that governance process is simplified with everyone given a sense of belonging through political and economic inclusiveness. Our Governor has ensured that only people-oriented policies are implemented and government actions have human face. His exemplary leadership style has shown that government can indeed work depending on who is in charge. We must commend our Governor for pulling us out of the woods and for prudently managing our resources for the good of all.”

Mr Idem maintained that the life of Mr Udom Emmanuel reflects the true meaning of selfless service to humanity. He said the governor has instilled in Akwa Ibomites the virtue of servant-leadership and the motivation to rise to the faith of greatness. He also stated that through the governor’s service before self-philosophy, he has reignited the hope that in no distant time Akwa Ibom State will arrive the Promised Land having brought about Superior Performance and unleashed a new vista of development through industrialization.
He therefore called on all the delegates and party faithful to remain loyal, committed and dedicated to Mr Udom Emmanuel, and ensure resounding victory for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming 2019 elections. He told the delegates that there is no need to change a team that is winning.

“I wish to thank you all for finding time to visit me. As statutory delegates, the responsibility is yours to choose credible candidates for the forthcoming elections. We have no doubt in the capacity of Udom Emmanuel to lead us aright. He has been tested and has not been found wanting. Ensure you stand by him to until 2023. There is no need changing the winning team. Together, let us join hands with the Udom-led government to bring peace and development to our beloved federal constituency. Now is the time to rise up to the challenge of defending our governor by voting for him and other contestants under the PDP umbrella”.

Mr Idem who is eyeing a seat at the lower chambers of the National Assembly come 2019 pledged that when elected, he will bring his entrepreneurial savvy to bear in transforming the Federal Constituency by ensuring development, job and wealth creation for the youths stating that he will operate an all-inclusive representation. He also hinted the elated delegates that he has the capacity, experience and competence to represent them given his success story in the telecoms nay business sector. He promised the delegates that he will not take their show of love and support for granted but will ensure that the constituency takes its pride of place in the scheme of things.
Those who spoke at the gathering took turns to pour encomiums on Governor Udom Emmanuel and Mr Unyime Idem and promised to stand by them come 2019 and even beyond. In attendance were party officers from the 2 Chapters and 24 Wards that make up the Federal Constituency. Also in attendance were former Council Chairmen and Councilors as well as Supporters of the #UnyimeAbasi2019 Project. The Political Leader, Hon. Nseobong Umanah aka NESMAN and Deputy Political Leader, Hon. Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, of Ukanafun ward 8 where Mr Unyime Idem hails from were on hand to add fillip to the gathering.
