Akwa Ibom Governor’s aide calls out man who he claims is related to a suspect that kidnapped his father and chopped off his hand
The Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Govenor on Grassroot mobilization, Ndiana Abasi Udom, has made a serious allegation against a young man identified as Omega Smith.
Dr Idongesit Udom, a retired Exxon Mobil staff and the Proprietor of Sure Foundation Polytechnic, was kidnapped alongside two expatriates of the oil company from a hotel room in Eket on April 9th, 2018. He was released on May 10th after paying N5 million ransom. He had his hand chopped off by kidnappers despite paying the ransom.
Some of the suspected kidnappers were arrested while another died during a gun battle between his group and the police.
According to Udom, Omega is the maternal cousin to one of the suspects that kidnapped his father. Read below:
“This is Omega Smith(you can check him on facebook), A maternal cousin to one of the people that kidnapped my father two years ago, this morning he made a useful confession that they thought i was a bank manager and that i will bring a lot of money, he also said they thought Senator Godswill Akpabio gave me a lot of money and my family refused to pay as i was in talks with the Senator that period. He was a board member of the plan and thinks he is free, hence the reason he is always on my page to see if we will react someday, but i am certain that the law will catch up with him soon, the same way it caught up with his maternal cousin who is now six feet below after exchanging gun shots with the police the day his gang was caught.
I am posting this so they wont kidnap my mum tommorow and think i am the Governor the same way they thought i was a branch manager, and henceforth, let it be on record that if anything happens to me and my family, Omega smith should be held responsible as they might want to strike for this exposure.
The world is watching.”
