Indigenes and Residents of Ekpene Ibia village in Uruan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State were in the fullness of joy yesterday, June 19, 2020 as they played host to the wife of the state Governor, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Martha Udom Udom Emmanuel for the commissioning of two houses built by the Chairman, Akwa Ibom Internal Revenue Services, Mr Okon Okon for a widow and the clergy of Methodist Church Nigeria, Ekpene Ibia.
Her Excellency while commissioning the projects expressed sincere appreciation to Mr Okon and his family for demonstrating such rare kindness to the Widow, by providing shelter for her and also thanked them for building a Manse for the Lord. The beneficiary (widow) Mrs Alice Affiong who could be seen dancing through the event told our correspondents that no Prophet could have convinced her that she would live in a “stone house” in this current life and earnestly prayed God’s blessings for Mr Okon. The Clergy of the Methodist Church Nigeria also appreciated the donor for the Manse and offered prayers for his enlargement to the Lord.
