AKHA to hold Pre-budget Briefing, Public Hearing

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is set to hold a pre-budget briefing/public hearing for the 2019 budget recently presented to the House by the state governor, His Excellency Udom Emmanuel.
According to a release signed by the Clerk, House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Mrs. Unwana P. Idungafa, the Chairman of the Committee and member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh will lead members of the committee and other members of the Assembly to the pre-budget briefing and public hearing.
The release reads in part; “The 2019 budget as presented by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, to Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 was committed to the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance for consideration.
“To ensure effective consideration of the bill, the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance will hold a pre-budget briefing/public hearing on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10.0am in the Old Chapel of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
“At the forum, the Hon. Commissioner for Finance shall speak on the policy thrust of Government, Revenue profile and the underlying assumptions of the budget, while the Hon. Commissioner for Economic Development shall brief it on the Capital Component and Implementation Strategies of the Budget.
“In addition, the Committee shall entertain questions and contributions from selected Stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom project. Accordingly, you are most respectfully invited to attend the pre-budget briefing/public hearing as scheduled and declare the forum open”.
The release therefore invites relevant persons, corporate bodies and interested members of the public to the event.
